‘80s hit The Fall Guy lands on LEGEND on 9 June and the original Charlie’s Angels TV series storms the Channel in August

The Fall Guy-Lee Majors

Joining LEGEND’s beloved line-up are the cult ‘80s series THE FALL GUY - which inspired a 2024 film adaptation – and the original 1970s CHARLIE'S ANGELS, the show that launched a global media franchise.

From 9 June, on weekdays at 7pm, Lee Majors returns as Colt Seavers, a maverick Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter, in the Channel premiere of THE FALL GUY. This marks the first time the original series will be available on both TV and on-demand since 2013. Viewers can look forward to spectacular stunt work, crunching vehicle chases, and Colt's iconic GMC pickup truck mark with an irresistible mix of crime-fighting and Hollywood satire.

These titles are the newest additions to LEGEND’s rich and popular catalogue of nostalgia content. Leading the charge is THE A-TEAM, which became the channel’s biggest success of 2024.Following closely behind is another Lee Majors classic, THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, which also delivered above-average performance during its run in 2023. The show saw strong engagement across both LEGEND’s linear schedule and the WATCH FREE streaming platform which offers LEGEND content on-demand.

A recently conducted focus group amongst LEGEND viewers highlighted the powerful emotional appeal of these series. Audiences described them as “nostalgic comfort blankets” that help them relax, lift their spirits and offer an escape from daily life. The success of LEGEND’s nostalgic programming reflects a broader trend across the television landscape, with vintage series proving increasingly popular on linear channels.

"Audiences are telling us they want comfort, familiarity and quality storytelling - and these classic series deliver all three," said Sam Rowden, VP, Content Group, AMC Networks International UK. "The performance of shows like THE A-TEAM and THE SIX MILLION DOLAR MAN proves that nostalgia isn't just a trend - it's a viewing choice."

"Bringing back those much-loved titles, which have not been available on free TV for some time, is key part of our LEGEND strategy, allowing our audiences to turn back the clock whenever they want and enjoy these action-packed series."

The appetite for vintage TV has helped solidify LEGEND's position as a key destination for fans of classic entertainment. To continue feeding the demand for nostalgic shows, LEGEND will also premiere the original CHARLIE'S ANGELS TV series from the 1970s in August.
