There is sizzling, summer action on LEGEND this August with seven premieres, including the UK TV premiere of ACCELERATION, a tense Dolph Lundgren thriller, which also stars Natalie Burns in brilliant action-hero form, and the Channel premiere of Nicolas Winding-Refn’s stylish crime-noir DRIVE, which solidified Ryan Gosling's status as a leading man.
Other Channel premieres include sharp-shooting retro Western, BIG KILL, starring Lou Diamond Phillips, mystic adventure PATHFINDER, starring Karl Urban, Renny Harlin's action pounder 12 ROUNDS, starring John Cena, swashbuckling adventure ROBIN HOOD: THE REBELLION, starring Brian Blessed and prison thriller HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION, starring Mel Gibson.
CHARLIE'S ANGELS land on LEGEND this month. From Monday Aug 25th fans can watch the original 1970s series, which launched a global media franchise and made stars out of Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson, who play a trio of talented policewomen whose skills were being wasted until they were discovered by the Townsend Detective Agency.
Here's everything you need to know.
ACCELERATION on the 7th focuses on Vladik Zorich (Dolph Lundgren), a crime lord whose tentacles permeate the underbelly of a seedy Los Angeles as he deals in guns, gambling, drugs and skin trafficking, finds himself double-crossed by his most trusted operative Rhona Zyocki (Natalie Burn). Vladik's propensity for control, drives him to kidnap Rhona's young son. A big mistake. Moving along to the 15th we bring you Hollywood's finest in DRIVE. A stunt driver by day and a loner by nature, 'Driver' (Ryan Gosling), moonlights as a getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA's most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbour, Irene (Carey Mulligan). When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best. Action of a very different kind on the 14th, ROBIN HOOD: THE REBELLION. When his love Maid Marian (Marie Everett) is captured by the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham, the legendary Robin Hood (Ben Freeman) and his crew of outlaws execute a daring rescue to save her. Also stars Brian Blessed as Friar Tuck.
Shifting gear we head to the 16th for HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION. During a high-speed car chase, with a bleeding body in his back seat, Driver (Mel Gibson) flips his car, smashing through the border wall in Mexico. Apprehended by the Mexican authorities, he is sent to "El Pueblito", the worst prison in all of Mexico. Not an easy place for an outsider to survive, unless it's with the help of someone who knows the ropes – a 10-year-old kid. Jason Patric and Lou Diamond Phillips star in the wild west drama BIG KILL on the 21st. A Philadelphia tenderfoot, two misfit gamblers on the run, and a deadly preacher converge in the lawless Arizona boomtown of Big Kill. As they search for the missing brother of the newcomer, they navigate a town gripped by corruption and violence, leading to a climactic showdown that will change them all forever. Legends come alive on the 23rd in PATHFINDER. When Viking "dragon" ships from the mysterious Norse arrive out of nowhere to invade a pristine North America, an epic battle unfolds between that will change one man's destiny and the future of a nation. This stirring saga recreates one of the most riveting, yet never-before-seen, eras in human history.
Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith play a trio of tough, talented policewomen whose skills are being wasted – until they are discovered by a millionaire Charles Townsend on the 25th as CHARLIE'S ANGELS come to LEGEND. Rescuing then from their mundane assignments, Charlie sets them up as the Townsend Detective Agency. Called on to go undercover posing as everything from models to dance instructors and veterinarians, the Angels are poised and ready to solve the toughest of cases. Our last premiere of the month is on the 30th as John Cena stars in 12 ROUNDS. Detective Danny Fisher (Cena) has the worst day of his life when his criminal nemesis escapes from prison and enacts his revenge: forcing Danny to complete a series of near-impossible puzzles and tasks to save his girlfriend's life.

Joining LEGEND’s beloved line-up are the cult ‘80s series THE FALL GUY - which inspired a 2024 film adaptation – and the original 1970s CHARLIE'S ANGELS, the show that launched a global media franchise.
From 9 June, on weekdays at 7pm, Lee Majors returns as Colt Seavers, a maverick Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter, in the Channel premiere of THE FALL GUY. This marks the first time the original series will be available on both TV and on-demand since 2013. Viewers can look forward to spectacular stunt work, crunching vehicle chases, and Colt's iconic GMC pickup truck mark with an irresistible mix of crime-fighting and Hollywood satire.
